Creative Connections
Art meets Science
Creative Connections is an exhibition where art meets science - an illustration of how two traditionally separate cultures can find joint inspiration and innovative solutions. In Spring 2009 a photography competition was launched to encourage students in the School of Materials to promote their work and the Materials discipline in an exciting way.
In response to a selection of images from the competition, three textile designers and a jeweller produced pieces of work. Although exactly the same images provided inspiration to each designer, they were interpreted in very different ways and the resulting designs are quite distinct.
