Take a 3D Journey through a Jet Engine
Would you like to take a 3D journey through a Rolls Royce jet engine? Or perhaps you would like the chance to select the materials to design your own Jet Engine and try to become the 'Best Engine Designer of the Day'?
For a chance to learn more about materials and the role they play in everyday life come along to our 'So you think you can design a Jet Engine?' visit the Aerospace Hall at the Museum of Science and Industry, Manchester.
Creative Connections - Art meets Science
Creative Connections is an exhibition where art meets science - an illustration of how two traditionally separate cultures can find joint inspiration and innovative solutions. In Spring 2009 a photography competition was launched to encourage students in the School of Materials to promote their work and the Materials discipline in an exciting way.
In response to a selection of images from the competition, three textile designers and a jeweller produced pieces of work. Although exactly the same images provided inspiration to each designer, they were interpreted in very different ways and the resulting designs are quite distinct.
Meet the Scientists at MOSI
Come to the Museum of Science and Industry and meet the materials scientists for a variety of family-friendly scientific and engineering events packed full of fascinating demonstrations and exciting interactive activities.
