The School's Introductory Week Programme begins on Wednesday, 19 September with School registration for all new students.
On Thursday, 20 September all new School of Materials postgraduate students will receive a welcome from the Head of School, Professor Young, and the School's Postgraduate Director. You will also meet representatives of various University support services. There will be separate schedules for students enrolled on each of our taught courses and research degrees in the afternoon, about which further details will be provided when you arrive.

Should you arrive in Manchester before the start of the Introductory programme, you are very welcome to drop in to meet staff and current students, and to familiarise yourself with the School and the University Campus. If you would like to meet with a specific member of staff, it would probably be best to make an appointment in advance, as many staff take summer holidays during August and September.
I look forward very much to meeting you in Manchester in September.
With best wishes,
Sandra Kershaw
