Partners

We work with industrial and academic organisations across the UK and internationally, to support and inform their research strategies. Our partnerships put an emphasis on interdisciplinary, cross-institutional cooperation.

Our work and participation in our collaborative projects is integral to their success, and has led to us being successful with funding from a variety of governmental sources, including RCUK, BEIS and the EU.

Some of our partners include: CGN, EDF, EPRL, Fluor Marine Propulsion, Framatome, Hitachi, NDA, NNL, Rolls-Royce, Sellaļ¬eld Ltd, Westinghouse and Wood Group. And our strong research culture is critical to the R&D programmes of associated centres at The University of Manchester such as the Nuclear Fuels Centre of Excellence, Nuclear AMRC, Dalton Cumbrian Facility and The Henry Royce Institute.

Dalton Nuclear Institute

The MPC is an integral part of the University’s Dalton Nuclear Institute. Dalton was founded in 2005 to build on the success of the MPC and the Radiochemistry URA. All of Dalton’s nuclear materials research is conducted within the MPC, and it is one of the largest, commercially and academically successful Dalton centres. The reputation of the MPC and its research has been vital in the rapid expansion of Dalton and nuclear activity at Manchester.

The strong research base in the MPC is also critical to the research and development programmes of associated centres such as the Nuclear AMRC, Dalton Cumbrian Facility and the Rolls-Royce University Technology Centre.
